2Baba, the ace singer, has joined the growing demand for reforms in the Nigerian education sector.
In a recent Instagram post, the ‘African Queen’ hitmaker declared that the entire system needs a fundamental change.
“We need to change our entire education system in Nigeria. Alkebulan/Africa #unwashthebrainwash,” he wrote.
While the 49-year-old singer did not elaborate on his reasons, his statement comes amid widespread discussions about the declining performance of students in national examinations.
The call for reform follows the recent release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, where a staggering 1.5 million out of 1,955,059 candidates scored below 200 — a shocking 75% failure rate.
The dismal performance has reignited debates about the quality of Nigeria’s education system, with many calling for urgent intervention.
2Baba has been in the spotlight since he announced his split from his wife Annie Idibia in January.
The singer also confirmed his relationship with Natasha Osawaru, an Edo state lawmaker.
He proposed to Osawaru in February, while insisting their relationship had nothing to do with his separation from Annie.
The lawmaker also recently updated her Instagram bio to include the singer’s surname.
2Baba was also recently appointed as the technical adviser to the Benue state governor on entertainment and community outreach.
