J Hus, the British-Gambian rapper, has unveiled the highly anticipated music video for ‘Gold’, his collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Asake.

Produced by P2J, the track was released on Thursday, accompanied by a visually arresting black-and-white cinematic experience, which was delivered on Monday.

The nearly four-minute video opens with Asake delivering his signature Yoruba-infused verses, blending traditional influences with contemporary flair.

The scene then transitions to J Hus, who performs surrounded by multiple imitations of himself — a creative metaphor for self-reflection and dominance in the rap game.

Shot entirely in monochrome, the video amplifies the song’s themes of luxury, resilience, and unshakable ambition.

The stark contrast of shadows and light adds a dramatic edge, reinforcing the track’s confident lyrics about success and perseverance.

In ‘Gold’, both artistes flaunt their hard-earned success, with J Hus and Asake trading bars about wealth, loyalty, and staying true to their roots.

“Every ring I’m wearing is gold/ They’re calling me Gaddafi/ Don’t bend, don’t break, don’t fold/ It’s a bad boy gangsta party/ All my niggas’ sticking to the code/ You get a Rolliew, AP, Carti’/ Dem boys say they’re really on road, how comes I see them hardly,” they sing.

J Hus rose to prominence in 2015 with his hit song ‘Dem Boy Paigon’. Since then, he has continued to release chart-topping tracks such as ‘Did You See’, ‘Must Be’, and ‘Play Play’.

His talent and artistry have earned him recognition and acclaim in the music industry.

Born Ahmed Ololade, Asake rose to fame in 2020 with his hit song ‘Lady’. The Afrobeats sensation was nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards in the ‘Best African Music Performance’ category. He, however, lost the category to colleague Tems.
