The 24-year-old singer announced the release of the song on social media platforms on Friday.

The less than four minutes track was produced by TMXO, a budding Nigerian music producer.

The song is a slow ballad whose power stems from the enchanting voice of the Lagos-born falsetto maestro.

The deliberate repetition of “I go dey want you, want you” in the chorus of the tune promises to cling to the listeners’ minds even after the humming instrumental has gone quiet.

The melody also professes a love so “sweet like Ofe Nsala”.

‘Want You’ was released about six weeks after the singer was enmeshed in a controversy following a leaked sex tape involving him.

The video clips had stirred a plethora of mixed reactions on Twitter. While some users criticised the singer, others hailed what they termed Oxlade’s “skills”

Oxlade would later apologise to the lady involved in the leaked sex tape.

He attributed the incident to “betrayals”, adding that “I am not the type of person to put my personal business out there.”
