‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ (RHOA) star Porsha Williams says she’s finally at peace following her divorce from Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia.
The pair first met in 2021 while the businessman was still married to Falynn Pina, Porsha’s former RHOA co-star. They exchanged vows in November 2022 but split after 15 months.
Following an intense legal battle, the US-based reality star’s divorce from Guobadia was finalised on June 11 by a judge in Georgia.
In her first interview since the split, Williams told People Magazine: “I feel relieved. I think the feeling was mutual for me and him. We were both ready to close this chapter and move forward with real life.”
The 44-year-old reality star also clarified that infidelity wasn’t the cause of their divorce.
“There were some old habits, some desires he wanted to accomplish outside of family. And I think that he possibly chose those things over me. That part took over in the end. I don’t know that person,” she revealed.
“There were big factors that really, really hurt in the divorce. I loved him so much because I trusted him, and I felt safe with him, and that’s what I lost. I couldn’t trust him.”
Porsha said she’s not currently open to romance, but remains hopeful about finding love again, adding, “I would absolutely marry again”.
“It’s lonely. I can’t connect with other men,” she said. “You’d think I’m already out there dating, right? People try to introduce me, but when it’s not the same, it’s not the same.”
“When you go through a bad enough breakup, you’re like, ‘I don’t like nobody.’ I was sitting there like, ‘Do I like women enough? Can I get with a woman? Who can come in and fill this void?’ I have got to be able to sit with someone and feel a part of what I felt with him.”
Porsha was married to Kordell Stewart, an ex-NFL player, for two years before their 2013 divorce. She also shares a daughter with Dennis McKinley, her ex-fiancé.
Guobadia, on the other hand, has five children from previous relationships. He was recently released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention and deported to Nigeria.
