Falz, Oxlade, and Kehinde Bankole are among the Nigerian celebrities who have reacted to recent killings that happened in Benue state.
The north-central state has experienced renewed attacks by gunmen, with reports of killings occurring almost weekly.
On June 14, over 100 people were killed in attacks by suspected herdsmen in Yelewata and Daudu communities in Guma LGA of the state.
The death toll from the killings reportedly climbed to 200 on Sunday, triggering nationwide outrage.
Some celebrities have publicly expressed their displeasure over the situation of the state, questioning why the issue was not receiving enough media attention.
Others also asked why the government had not quickly intervened in the issue while offering prayers for those affected by the killings.
2Baba had vehemently condemned the attacks and killings in the state. He also called for urgent action by the government over the issue.
“Over 200 senselessly slain and burnt alive in Benue, and this is not even getting close to enough attention. Why are we so wicked to ourselves?,” rapper Falz wrote.
Content creator Crazeclown also added: “Benue bleeds. Whole families wiped out and thrown into mourning. How many more must die before we name this what it is — a bloody massacre? This is not about politics or tribe, this is life and death. Enough is enough.”
“The killings in Benue cannot keep being met with silence. These are lives lost, families broken, and futures stolen. Nigeria, how many more? This is a national emergency that we all must partake in,” Oxlade wrote.

Deepest condolences to everyone mourning in Benue. It’s a tragedy! The only bigger tragedy is the actual value of life here. No one deserves to die like that. May their souls rest in peace 🙏🏾

One person has 12 police officers stationed to their house meanwhile, people can go to Benue to burn them without one single officers intervention.
