Davido, the award-winning Nigerian singer, has announced that he will be donating N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria to commemorate his birthday.
The singer, who would be 32 on November 21, disclosed the donation plan via his X page.
In the tweet, Davido revealed that the money will benefit several orphanages and charities focused on preventing drug abuse and addiction among young people.
The Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star added that details of the fund’s disbursement will be unveiled soon.
“Once again my birthday this year we Donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m. Details to follow soon,” he wrote.

The charitable initiative marks Davido’s continued commitment to giving back to society.
In 2021, the singer launched a Twitter fundraiser and donated the N250 million realised to orphanages.
In July 2023, the ‘If’ hitmaker also gave out the sum of N237 million to various orphanage homes across Nigeria.
In February, the Afrobeats star donated N300 million to orphanage homes across Nigeria to ease the effect of economic hardship.
The Coalition of Orphanages and Children’s Homes in Nigeria (COCHIN) lauded Davido for his financial support in May.
As one of Africa’s leading artistes, Davido continues to solidify his reputation through numerous awards and projects.
