Jonny Baxter, the British deputy high commissioner in Nigeria, hosted stakeholders in the arts, entertainment, and governance sectors.
The event, which held in Ikoyi, Lagos, on November 14, was a celebration of King Charles III 76th birthday.
Baxter said the event was another opportunity to renew strategic partnerships between the UK and Nigeria.
“The king’s birthday is very special for Great Britain and the United Kingdom. It’s his second birthday since he’s been monarch,” Baxter said.
“It’s a special day for the royal family and we are all immensely pleased.
“The king’s birthday is also our national day. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to talk about the relationship between the United Kingdom and Nigeria and where we show the best of the UK and the interactions between our two countries.”
The envoy referenced David Lammy, UK foreign secretary’s recent visit to Nigeria, where a strategic partnership on strengthening trade, security, and defence relationships was signed.
Representatives of the business community also graced the occasion.
