Femi Branch, the Nigerian actor, has lost his father.

The actor announced his father’s passing via Instagram on Friday.

Branch, however, did not disclose the cause of death.

Celebrities and family members have begun to pay tributes to the deceased.

Charles Inojie wrote, “May his soul rest in peace”.

Nikki Laoye offered prayers: “May daddy’s soul rest in perfect peace. Amen. So sorry, egbon. May God continue to comfort you and your family at this time and always in Jesus’ name. Amen”.

Gabriel Afolayan simply commented, “Rest well, daddy” while Blessing Jessica Obasi added, “My condolences, sir”.

Branch, widely recognized for his memorable roles in productions like ‘House of Ga’a’, has built a reputation for his exceptional acting talent.

Born to parents who were teachers in Sagamu, Ogun state, the actor atended Satellite Town Primary School in Amuwo Odofin before proceeding to Airforce Secondary School in Ikeja.

He studied at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), where he was initially admitted for Religious Studies but ultimately earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts.

Branch’s acting journey began at OAU in 1991, when he appeared in a Yoruba stage play titled ‘Eniyan’.

He gained further recognition after starring in ‘Orisun (Origin)’, a movie produced by OAU staff.

His first television appearance came in 2003 in MTN’s Dance With Me commercial.

Over the years, Branch has become a prominent figure in Nollywood, appearing in numerous films, some of which he also produced and directed. His recent works include the Nigerian period drama, Farmer’s Bride’.
