Davido, the award-winning Nigerian singer, has come through with ‘Awuke’, his highly anticipated single featuring YG Marley.
The song was released across all streaming platforms on Thursday evening.
‘Awuke’ sees Davido croon about his love interest who showers him with care and affection.
“Ahh ahh ehh awuke ehh ahh ehh (2ce)/ I go run away from love/ Ahh ahh ehh Awuke ehh ahh ehh (2ce)/ You don finish me with love/ Your body fire gan/ O baby whine am joor/ I dey your matter gan/ Your body na chairman I loyal,” he sings.
Born David Adeleke, Davido rose to fame in 2012 after releasing ‘Dami Duro’, the second single from his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.
Since his debut album, he has delivered three other projects including ‘A Good Time’ (2019), ‘A Better Time‘ (2020), and ‘Timeless’ (2023).
Davido is also the founder of DMW, a record label established in April 2016. The music label has served as home to a plethora of music talents.
With several awards to his name, Davido has solidified himself as one of the leading artistes in Africa.
YG Marley, on the other hand, is the son of Lauryn Hill, the US singer and songwriter, and Rohan Marley, the former American football player.
He is also the grandson of Bob Marley, the late Jamaican reggae singer.
