The 14th edition of Lagos Fashion Week has been slated to be held from October 23 to 27.

The annual event brings together Africa’s most creative minds to celebrate the collective brilliance shaping the future of African fashion.

This year’s event aims to highlight the importance of the fashion value chain in advancing innovation and sustainability.

“The event will showcase a shared vision for the future of African fashion, highlighting the entire fashion value chain’s role in driving innovation and sustainability across the continent,” a statement from the organisers reads in part.

The theme for this year’s fashion week is ‘Commune’.

The five-day event will feature runway shows, networking opportunities, talent discovery, visual makers fellowship, fashion business series, exhibitions, and after-parties.

The runway will feature design collections from Green Access finalists.

Green Access finalists are the designers who have undergone mentorship focused on sustainable practices, emphasizing the future of eco-conscious fashion in Africa.

The finalists showcasing their debut collection at this year’s event include Dimeji Ilori, Garbe, Malité, Oya Abeó, and Revival.

Lagos Fashion Week 2024 is sponsored by Heineken, Bioderma, Lush, TOMS, Prosper Africa, and Afrexim.

The annual event was founded by Omoyemi Akerele in 2011.

It is also considered one of Africa’s largest fashion events.
