The police in Abuja have revealed that Dammy Krane, the singer, is in its custody undergoing interrogation.

On August 22, Krane accused Davido, his colleague, of orchestrating his recent arrest.

He claimed that Davido paid the law enforcement agency to detain him under the pretense of being involved in illegal activities related to Flutterwave and cryptocurrency scams.

He also warned that if anything happened to him, Davido should be held accountable.

TheCable Lifestyle understands that Krane has been in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja for nearly a week.

On Wednesday, Funmilayo Eguaoje, the FCID spokesperson, disclosed that the singer is being interrogated by the cybercrime unit.

Eguaoje clarified that the singer was not in prison but only being grilled — although she did not state the cause of his detention.

She, however, revealed that Krane will “likely be released after interrogation”.

“He has been taken for interrogation. He is not in the cell. He is with the section that is investigating the matter. He is likely to be released after the interrogation. He is with the cybercrime unit. They are recording his statement,” she told TheCable Lifestyle.

Krane and Davido, his colleague, have been in a dispute over claims that the Afrobeats star owes him for songwriting contributions.

Krane also accused the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker of sabotaging his record deal with Sony Music.

In response to the allegations, Davido labeled Krane “ungrateful” and claimed he received no payment for their collaborations. Davido also mentioned that he provided shelter and support for Krane during a difficult time when he was homeless.

Since then, Krane has continued to attack Davido on social media; even accusing him of being involved in the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike, who died from alleged alcohol poisoning in October 2017.

Davido dismissed claims and threatened to sue Krane for “defamation of character and cyberbullying”.
