Travis Scott, the American rapper, was arrested on Friday over an alleged fight involving a security guard and his bodyguard at a luxury hotel in central Paris.
The 33-year-old entertainer was alleged to have attacked the security guard who attempted to separate him during the fight with his bodyguard.
“I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested the rapper nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” the Paris prosecutor’s officer said in a statement.
“The security guard had intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard. The Paris public prosecutor’s office has referred the case to the 1st district of the judicial police.”
In June, the 10-time Grammy Award nominee was arrested in Miami following an argument on a private yacht. His lawyer, however, argued that the incident had been a “misunderstanding”.
In 2023, the rapper was said to have assaulted a nightclub worker in New York City and reportedly settled with the club later.
Scott started dating media personality Kylie Jenner in April 2017. In February 2018, Jenner gave birth to their daughter.
They broke up in September 2019 but quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic for the sake of their daughter and ended up rekindling their relationship.
Jenner gave birth to their son in February 2022 while the pair broke up for a second time in January 2023.
Scott was one of the artistes featured on Afrobeats sensation Asake’s recently released third album titled ‘Lungu Boy’.
