Bolaji Idowu, the lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, has claimed that most ladies living in Admiralty Way in Lekki, Lagos do not visit the gym to lose weight.
In a video — from one of his recent services — shared on TikTok, the cleric argued that the ladies go to the gym in search of rich men.
Buttressing his argument, the cleric said his gym instructor once told him that some women inquire about the financial and marital status of their male clients.
“Go to Admiralty, you will see the gyms filled with girls. They are not trying to lose weight. How did I know?” Bolaji asked in a video shared on TikTok.
“They go to the gym, half of the time they are talking. So, when they finish, they eat shawarma, and hotdog, which they bought in the gym. Everything they have eaten they send it back to them. That was not the goal.
“… one of the gym instructors told me ‘they will never ask after you because they never know how important you are’. I said what ‘do they ask after’. He said ‘all the guys that have G Wagon they always ask after them.
“What does he do? Is he married? Is he single? Does he come on Monday and Wednesdays…?”
Idowu founded Harvesters church on December 13, 2003. He is well known for publicly speaking out on relationship and political matters.
The cleric took a shot at men in June. He said it is very “shameful” for a man to marry a woman for “financial reasons”.
