Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, the Nigerian singer better known as Ayra Starr, says she is open to finding love.
The singer revealed her relationship status in a recent chat with Angela Yee on the ‘Way Up’ show.
Starr also shared the inspiration behind a track in her upcoming album titled ‘The Year I Turned 21’.
“‘Lagos Love Story’ is literally just like really cute. Like coming of age love story. And it is like my idea in my head is like- in Lagos. The lyrics is like I was at the beach. Let us go to the beach. Let us do this. I have pictures of my fun of you. My storage is full. It feels like a Lagos story too,” she said.
When asked if she is in a relationship, Ayra Starr replied: “I am not in love yet but [I will be] soon”.
The ‘Bloody Samaritan’ hitmaker also said she might have unintentionally broken the heart of some people while regretting her actions.
“I break hearts everyday. I am just kidding. Not on purpose though. But in a case I have broken anybody’s heart, it has not been on purpose,” she added.
Last week, Starr unveiled details for her 14-track project.
‘The Year I Turned 21’ follows the success of the music star’s 2021 debut album, ’19 & Dangerous’.
The album is set to drop on May 31 via Universal Music.
Last year, Starr dismissed the rumour of being romantically involved with Rema, adding that the Calm Down’ hitmaker “is my brother”.
Starr became a viral sensation after releasing her hit track ‘Bloody Samaritan’ in 2021.
She was among the Nigerian music artistes nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards.
She was nominated in the maiden ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for ‘Rush’.
The music star, however, lost to Tyla, the South African singer.
