In an interview with Echo Room, Aluko alleged that Afrobeats singers have used sounds from Fuji music, particularly in their use of choruses.

“They stole from Fuji music, they know that. Afro people know. They stole a lot of things. Part of the chorus is from the Fuji,” he said.

When asked if he could pinpoint any particular Afrobeats artiste who he feels stole from Fuji, he mentioned Burna Boy, arguing that his performances are “unique”.
