Bella Shmurda, the Nigerian singer, has demanded the release of the body of Mohbad, his friend and colleague, for burial.
Mohbad died under mysterious circumstances on September 12 and was buried the following day.
On September 21, the body of the 27-year-old music star was exhumed by the police for autopsy.
Two months after the exhumation, however, the details of Mohbad’s autopsy results are yet to be made public.
In a post on Twitter, Bella Shmurda expressed concern over the delay in obtaining Mohbad’s autopsy results.
He urged the police to release the singer’s body for a proper burial.
“It has been over 2 months since Moh died and his body was taken in for autopsy but yet no result which is fine. But please release his body. That boy needs a befitting burial and to go to rest,” he wrote.
“Finally, Naija police what’s going on, we need an answer here where is the result? Where is his body?”
Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, has also previously lamented the delay in releasing his son’s autopsy result.
He said the delay in the results is causing Mohbad’s remains “to suffer”.
The coroner’s inquest into the death of Mohbad began on October 13.
On October 4, the police arraigned Naira Marley and Sam Larry before the Magistrate court in Yaba.
This was for their alleged conflict with Mohbad in the months preceding his death.
The law enforcement agency also requested that Marley and Larry be remanded for 30 days pending the completion of their investigation.
However, they were later released from custody on bail.
