Davido and Zlatan joined the candlelight procession in Lagos to honour Mohbad, the late street-pop singer.

The 27-year-old died on September 12 and was buried the next day.

His death came as a shock to many, as circumstances surrounding his death remain sketchy.

Thousands of fans have also protested nationwide while demanding justice for the late singer.

The Lagos state police command said an autopsy on the body of Mohbad has been completed, adding that they are now awaiting results.

On Thursday, a candlelight procession was organised to honour Mohbad.

Among the mourners were some of the heavyweights in Nigerian music, including Davido, Zlatan, and Falz.

The procession was held at Muri Okunola Park and saw a large crowd that found their way through the narrow streets, singing Mohbad’s songs and chanting “justice for Mohbad.”

Zlatan gave his tribute on stage, saying he is grateful to have shared memories with Mohbad.

“During his last days, he graced my event with his musical prowess, and we also got to work on a song for his album,” he said.

“I stand before you to say I am indeed proud of every beautiful moment shared with Mohbad.”

In his closing speech, Davido said he came down from the UK to join the procession.

He added that Mohbad’s name will be kept alive.

“The whole world is listening to your music. I flew all the way down here for this, and we are going to keep your name alive for sure,” he said.
