A family court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo state, has extended the remand of Trinity Guy in prison till August 31 over the alleged sexual exploitation of a 10-year-old girl.

Last month, the Oyo state police command summoned the skit maker for asking the minor “inappropriate questions” about his manhood in a viral video.

The comedian, born Maruf Abdullahi, was later arraigned on two-count charges of conspiracy and sexual abuse as well as exploitation alongside Isiaka Ahmed and Rofiat — parents of the minor.

During the court session on June 26, Oluwakemi Arowosaye, the prosecution counsel, said the three defendants allegedly conspired to sexually abuse the girl.

Arowosaye said their action violated Section 35 (1) and is punishable under Section 35 (2) of Oyo State Child Right’s Law, 2006.

The prosecution counsel added that the offence also contravened Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

“Trinity, on Dec. 17, 2022, sexually abused and exploited the girl at Kuola area of Ibadan,” she said.

“Abdullahi was asking the victim the colour of his penis, recording the scene and posting it on social media.”

In a second hearing on Tuesday, P. O. Adetuyibi, the magistrate, extended the remand of Trinity and the parents of the child in the Agodi correctional facility in Ibadan.

The case was adjourned till August 31 for further hearing.

It is understood that Trinity Guy is liable to 15 years imprisonment if found guilty.
