Tembu Daniel, the Cameroonian skit maker fondly called Town Cryer, has begun his quest to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest crying marathon by an individual.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the comedian, who is based in Lagos, Nigeria, said he will be crying nonstop for 100 hours.
In an accompanying flier, the skit maker said he has the permission of the GWR to proceed with the attempt.
He also called for support from his fans.
“I am going in to break the Guinness world record for the longest time crying,” he wrote.

Last week, GWR issued a short statement to people attempting to break world records.
The statement followed after Danny Zara, another Cameroonian, announced her intention to set a world record for the longest-sex marathon.
Some Nigerians have also been giving the GWR a shot since Hilda Baci edged out her predecessor to set a new time for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
In May, Baci cooked for 100 hours to dethrone the record of 87 hours 45 minutes previously set by Lata Tondon, an Indian, in 2019.
Shortly after, Damilola Adeparusi, another chef, embarked on a five-day cooking marathon.
Adeyeye Adeola also attempted to break Baci’s record with a 150-hour cooking marathon.
In the same vein, Temitope Adebayo, a chef based in Ibadan, announced his intention to cook for over 120 hours.
Hassan Joshua Bature, a computer science lecturer at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), also revealed plans to undertake a 150-hour teaching marathon.
Joyce Ijeoma, a Nigerian masseur who was attempting to break the world record for the longest massage on different individuals, recently collapsed.
