Hilda Baci has declared support for Damilola Adeparusi, an Ekiti chef who’s aiming to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Baci had attempted to break the record last month, but the GWR is yet to certify her effort.

On Friday, Adeparusi began a 120-hour cooking marathon in Ekiti, aiming to surpass Baci’s figure.

Baci had previously cooked for 100 hours to surpass the 2019 record of 87 hours set by an Indian chef named Lata Tondon.

Adeparusi’s decision to challenge Baci’s attempt came after the GWR announced that they would assess Baci’s go at setting a new record before any official confirmation that a record was indeed set.

As of the time of this report, Adeparusi has reportedly cooked for over 64 hours.

There have been mixed reactions from Nigerians regarding her decision to challenge Baci’s unvetted attempt.

While some disapproved of the Ekiti chef’s move, others expressed their support for her cooking marathon.

In a tweet on Sunday, Baci said there is uniqueness in individual dreams.

She said Adeparusi’s attempt at setting a new record is a show of great courage.

Baci encouraged her to embrace the journey, learn from every experience, and continue inspiring others.
