Hanan, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, says her father is a “silent achiever”.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Hanan shared a photo of the president during the inauguration of two new warships and a naval fleet review in Lagos.
She also described her dad as a “silent achiever” in the caption of the post.
Buhari previously served as Nigeria’s military head of state from 1983 to 1985.
He was elected as a democratic president in 2015 and is currently in his last week in office.
In the past few days, the president has been actively inaugurating various projects across the country.
On Monday, Buhari inaugurated the Dangote petroleum refinery, which is expected to catalyse the transformation of Nigeria’s energy sector.
The president also recently unveiled the second Niger Bridge, the Ikom Bridge, and the Loko-Oweto Bridge.
Hanan, on the other hand, has been in the spotlight for her pursuit of the field of photography.
Last year, she launched her foundation to tackle gender-based violence.
Hanan said the “rape culture” in the country had been tolerated for decades, adding that it was time to speak out for the emancipation of women’s rights.
The president’s daughter said the crime has always been shrouded in secrecy owing to ingrained patriarchal sex stereotypes, and structural and systemic oppression women face, among others.
Hanan added that such incidences must be stopped.
In 2020, she tied the knot with Mohammed Turad, a special adviser to Babatunde Fashola, minister of works and housing.
