Eddie Murphy has made a joke of Will Smith’s 2022 Oscar outburst at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.

Murphy was honored with the highly coveted Cecil B DeMille award at the 80th Golden Globes held on Tuesday.

After his acceptance speech, the actor listed what he termed “the blueprint for success” — in what appeared to be sarcasm.

“I want to let you know that there is a definitive blueprint that you can follow to achieve success, prosperity, longevity, and peace of mind,” Eddie Murphy said.

“It is a blueprint and I’ve followed it my whole career. It is very simple. Just do these three things.

“Pay your taxes, mind your business, and keep Will Smith’s wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth!”

At the 2022 Oscars, Chris Rock, the comedian, aimed a joke at the shaved head of Jada Pinkett, Will Smith’s wife.

Pinkett’s shaved head is due to the hair-loss condition called alopecia.

Chris Rock had said, “Jada I love you. ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it.”

Smith angrily went on stage to slap Rock and yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out of your… mouth.”

The incident generated mixed reactions from fans and Hollywood stakeholders, some of whom condemned the assault.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) also handed Smith a 10-year ban from the Oscars.

Smith has since tendered several apologies for his action.

He admitted that violence in all of its forms is “poisonous and destructive”, adding his conduct was “inexcusable”.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” he wrote in March 2022.

In June 2022, Smith said he had reached out to Rock to apologize but didn’t get a response.

“The message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk,” Will Smith added.

“When he is, he will reach out so I will say to you Chris, I apologise to you.”
