Monroe is a US model who died of a barbiturate overdose in 1962 in her LA home when she was aged 36.

She had tied the knot with DiMaggio at the San Francisco Hall in 1954, but later get divorced the next year in 1955.

For her wedding to the baseball player, Monroe wore a two-piece brown Serge suit, with white fur on the collar.

TMZ reports that sources say Marilyn Monroe had initially bought the suit from a store known as Macy’s.

It was also said that she later gifted it to the mother-in-law of Milton Greene, her personal photographer.

The suit would be made available for auction to the public through the auction house Gotta Have Rock and Roll.

It is estimated that the suit could fetch between $1.5 and $2 million, despite being one of Monroe’s conservative looks.

The bidding for the suit, it is understood, starts on November 23 and would close on December 9.

Earlier, an iconic 1964 silk-screen portrait of Monroe by Andy Warhol, the pop artist, auctioned for $195 million.

This made it the most expensive 20th-century artwork ever sold at a public auction.
