John Ugbe, the managing director of Multichoice Nigeria, has revealed plans to bring in South African housemates in the next edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality TV show.
Ugbe spoke about the future of the reality show during the Multichoice Showcase event on Thursday.
He said the similarities between both countries’ “music and economy” will attract more interest to the reality show.
He added that Americans might also make it to Biggie’s house in the nearest future.
“So I think Big Brother will want Nigerians and South Africans together. I mean look at the culture that both countries have; the two largest economies in Africa, the biggest music coming out of both Afrobeat, Amapiano. There is a lot of collaboration between Nigerians and South Africans,” he said.
“We at MultiChoice are very proud of Nigeria and South African roots and heritage so we think it will make a very good TV and you never know maybe we will grab a few Americans next in the house together with Nigerians.
“We will see quite a few housemates coming from all over the world, Nigerians coming to join the show so we will think it will be quite interesting.
“As we will always say, watch the space and we will always tell you what’s coming up. We have told you the next one now so at the right time we would tell you what next is coming on the platform.”
