Rihanna, the Barbadian singer, was honoured with a marble statue at the 2022 Met Gala.
Themed ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’, the event was held on May 2 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The singer, 34, was unable to attend this year’s event in New York as she is heavily pregnant with her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.
Vogue, in collaboration with the museum, immortalised a pregnant Rihanna with a marble statue as a surprise.
For one night only, the figure was placed where the statue of Eirene (The Personification of Peace) stands.
It is believed to be a digital sculpture, with Vogue crediting animation studio ApeManRobot for the design.
Sharing a video of the statue on full display via her Twitter page, Rihanna expressed her excitement about the gesture.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
It marks the grand opening of the costume institute’s annual fashion exhibit.
Each year’s event celebrates the theme of that year’s costume institute exhibition.
The exhibition also sets the dress theme of the night for guests.
Among those who attended the 2022 edition include Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, who showed up with his mother; and Hilary Clinton, former first lady and presidential candidate.
