Alex Asogwa, the BBNaija season 3 housemate, has recounted her experience at the scene of an accident involving school children in the Ojodu axis of Lagos state.
The accident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, is said to have led to the death of over 10 students — although the state police said only two students died.
Some of those affected are said to be students from the Babs Fafunwa Millennium Senior Secondary School in the area, where the Ojodu police station is also located.
In several posts via her Instagram stories, the reality TV star said she was on her way to the office of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) when she noticed people were scampering for safety.
She disclosed that during the commotion, some of the security officers were seen removing their clothes for safety reasons.
“Wahala no dey finish. Today, innocent me had a reason to be at the FRSC office today. As I was about my business, I noticed people running and officers taking off their uniforms. I stayed calm o and went about what concerned me,” she wrote.
“My problem is just a lot right now. I don’t know if it’s the fact that people were jumping fence or my legs hurt from standing since God knows when or that it’s getting dark.
“I don’t even know if I have a problem with how far away from home I am or the fact that they are saying if students break him, they’ll start breaking cars.
“Right now, I don’t even know who is who as we have all turned to officers and civilians. Nobody is in uniform anymore. Gates have been locked and I heard students are carrying bottle.
“I’m not sure if it’s gunshots I heard but I heard something loud numerous times and for every sound, people scampered.
“Sad thing is, we can’t even drive out. They’ve parked behind us.”
Alex described the experience “as hell of a day”, adding that she was scared.
