Ladipoe, Mavin Records star, has enlisted Fireboy, afro-pop singer, for ‘Running’, a mid-tempo single.
The less than four-minute track, which comes on the backdrop of the success recorded by ‘Feeling’, Ladipoe’s hit single, was released in the early hours of Friday.
The song addresses personal and societal issues ranging from friendship, competition in the music industry, and other narcissistic affairs.
“There’s no time, there’s no energy| I’m just running, running, running| Sweet white wine cause there’s no Hennessy| I’m just running, running all the time| Even though the country don dey tire me| But there’s no time, there’s no energy| I’m just running, running, running| Sweet white wine cause there’s no Hennessy| I’m just running, running all the time,” the lyrics read.
Ladipoe, whose birth name is Ladipo Eso, signed a deal with Mavin Records, a music label founded by Don Jazzy, in 2017.
He has since then continued to remain relevant in the music scene with songs like ‘Feel Alright’ where he got featured by ‘Show Dem Camp’ and ‘Jaiye’, a 2019 hit single.
The ‘Feeling’ crooner was nominated for the ‘Best International Flow’ category at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards but lost to Little Simz, a British rapper.
Fireboy, on the other hand, has also continued to make impressive strides in the music industry with hit projects and awards since joining the YBNL, a record label owned by Olamide, an indigenous rapper and record producer, in 2018.
