BBNaija: Housemates clash over food as Pere’s kitchen shake-up backfires

There was a heated drama among BBNaija season six housemates on Friday night over the decision of Pere, the head of house (HoH), to relieve White Money of his cooking role.

White Money has been in charge of the kitchen since this year’s edition of the reality TV show started.

But on Wednesday, Pere expressed his reservation with the development and demanded a replacement while addressing his fellow housemates.

He had thereafter asked Angel to take charge of the kitchen and selected four other housemates to assist her.

Less than two days, however, the kitchen shake-up has taken a toll on the housemates as many of them complained of hunger and disorganisation in the cooking arrangement.

The development took a dramatic twist on Friday after the housemates completed the task given to them by Biggie, the instructive voice behind the show.

It all started when Angel called the housemates together to express her dissatisfaction with the fact that some people called her out for not cooking for them as instructed by Pere.

She also warned the housemates not to “insult” her because Pere asked her to take responsibility for the kitchen, adding that she’s not a “slave” to anyone.

Weighing into the matter, Pere argued that the dust over food — since White Money was removed from his cooking role — showed the house cannot continue to depend on him.

He also took a dig at White Money, telling the housemates that “some people are trying to use strategy, if you like don’t shine your eyes.”

His comment, however, infuriated Nini who wondered why he is against White Money because of his decision to cook.

“If it’s strategy, everyone should also do what works for them. It’s working for him (White Money) and it’s fine. He’s really enslaving himself for all of us,” she said.

But Maria defended Pere’s decision, saying the house cannot continue to depend on White Money to cook all the time.

The issue would later spark another controversy between Pere and Princess.

In a follow-up conversation with Michael and other housemates, White Money vowed to confront Pere over his strategy claim, wondering why he is against him.

“Whatever I do, I do it because it’s what I love. Just imagine, only a few days and there’s already chaos. I’m still going to confront him later. Even if it’s a strategy, it doesn’t stop my eviction,” he said.
