Rich Oganiru, the Nollywood actor, has passed away after battling an illness for months.
Abubakar Yakubu, national secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed the tragic development to TheCable Lifestyle on Wednesday.
He said the actor died on Tuesday after battling a kidney condition.
It was gathered that a few weeks ago, a video of the veteran actor lying on his sickbed and begging for financial assistance was circulated on social media.
Before his death, Oganiru starred in multiple movies including ‘Queen of Hasso Rock’, ‘Wasted Effort’, ‘Pay Day’, ‘Lacrima’, ‘Stoneface in Love’, and ‘His Majesty’.
Others are ‘My Destiny’, ‘Battle Of The Rich’, ‘Political Control’, ‘Touching Love’, ‘Total Control’, and ‘Last Confession’.
In 2012, Oganiru was said to have been arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Abuja following a petition by her family. He had strenuously denied the accusations.
Before his passing, Oganiru was a corporate marketing consultant to the Abuja Chapter of the AGN.
