Teni Apata, Nigerian songstress, has come through with the visuals for ‘Hustle’, a track off Wondaland, her debut album.
Teni, who had recently spoken with TheCable Lifestyle about the album, put out the song’s visuals on Friday.
The music video features Teni playing the role of a struggling singer trying to make amplify her musical talent.
The issue proves more difficult with her mother, who, believing music is but a waste of time, beats her whenever she stumbles upon her daughter devoting time for her passion.
The only soothing balm was the father, who recognises the girl’s talent and encourages her passion.
In one of the scenes, the father and daughter could be seen in a vehicle speeding over what appeared to be the third mainland bridge in Lagos while the girl sings to keep the journey vivacious.
A mishap, however, occurs and their car plunges into the lagoon below the bridge.
The girl survives, but her father didn’t make it.
While watching the burial of the only person in the world who supported her dreams, she sings: “Of course, of course, them say Teni pompous, yeah/ ‘Cause I put myself first/ Whoa, they say Teni pompous, yeah/ But it’s all love, all love, brother, yeah, it’s all love/ Whoa, it’s all love, my brother, it’s all love/ And I’m good with it”
