Toyin Lawani, Nigerian fashion stylist, has come under fire on social media over her racy dress for the premiere of ‘Prophetess,’ a movie by Niyi Akinmolayan.

The movie premiered in Lagos last Sunday and is expected to officially hit the cinemas on Friday.

But Lawani stunned many at the movie’s premiere with her controversial nun-inspired outfit.

In several photos shared on her Instagram page, the entrepreneur could be seen clad in an all-white attire with a sign of the cross inscribed on it.

Her dress was similar to that worn by a nun — a woman devoted to religious life and living under a convent.

The stylist, however, was partly unclad as her thighs could be visibly seen while she also accompanied the photos with religious-inclined captions wherein she subtly aimed several digs at her critics.

“Holy holy Why are you wailing, Pls you can now cry in peace. I live by my rules because I have built a world for myself and I am ruling it. If it’s not Tiannah? It can never be Tinnah,” she wrote in one of the posts.

The fashionista’s dress has since sparked outrage on Twitter, with many accusing her of insulting Christianity.

“Toyin Lawani as a fashionista, can go beyond boarders with her line of business but she should also remember that there is breaking point in whatever we do in this life. That was a cross in boundary because that was a slap on Christendom,” a user wrote.

“What is Toyin Lawani trying to prove with this Catholic Nun outfit? Without mincing words, this is so disrespecful and demeaning Madness everywhere,” another user wrote.

The development comes weeks after the stylist shared photos of herself completely unclad with her body designed with flowery tattoos to celebrate her 39th birthday.
