Wizkid, Rema and Burna Boy have been nominated for the 2020 edition of the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) awards billed for December 9.

Burna Boy and Rema were nominated in the ‘Best International Act’ category alongside Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby and the late Pop Smoke.

The duo also joined Fireboy, Davido, Wizkid, Adekunle Gold, Tiwa Savage on the ‘Best African Act’ category.

Nines, an English rapper and songwriter, leads the list with five nominations in different categories including ‘Best Male Act’, ‘Album Of The Year’ and ‘Video Of The Year’.

This year’s edition of the awards, inaugurated in 1996, is coming after about a two-year hiatus — with the last one held in 2017.

To make up for its time off, organisers of the awards have added a new category christened Best album (1 September 2017 – 31 August 2019).
