Mike Edwards, an ex-housemate of the Big Brother Naija reality show, says Nigerians should not be bothered about Beyoncé, an American singer, joining the #EndSARS protest.

The protest against operatives of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) has continued to garner momentum across the country.

This is despite an announcement by Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), that the police unit had been banned.

Several prominent international figures including Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and Trey Songz, American singer, have backed the movement.

However, Beyonce, an American singer and songwriter, has yet to comment on the issue.

Reacting to the development, Edward said people should rather focus their energy into the campaign than trying to get the American singer’s support for it.

Critics accuse her of being insensitive to the plights of Nigerians, despite claiming to love Africa.

Tiwa Savage, a Nigerian singer, joined those urging the American singer to support the #EndSARS campaign on Thursday.
