“Chadwick…..no words to express my devastation of losing you. Your talent, your spirit, your heart, your authenticity……..It was an honor working beside you, getting to know you….Rest well prince…May flights of angels sing thee to thy heavenly rest. I love you,” Viola Davis wrote on Twitter.
“Chadwick Boseman will forever be a symbol of strength, resilience, and extraordinary excellence. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us,” a Twitter user said.
“I’m absolutely devastated. This is beyond heartbreaking. Chadwick was special. A true original. He was a deeply committed and constantly curious artist. He had so much amazing work still left to create. I’m endlessly grateful for our friendship. Rest in power, King,” Chris Evans wrote on Twitter.

Heartbroken. My friend and fellow Bison Chadwick Boseman was brilliant, kind, learned, and humble. He left too early but his life made a difference. Sending my sincere condolences to his family. pic.twitter.com/C5xGkUi9oZ

What a wrenching loss to have Chadwick Boseman leave so soon. He was brilliant in films that are as big as hits get, yet it still feels he was just warming up. Such a committed actor, I especially love his James Brown in Get On Up, a seemingly impossible part, & yet he nailed it.

I feel dumb for not knowing Chadwick Boseman was battling cancer these last 4 years while he gifted us so many incredible performances & roles. What a goddamn fighter. 🖤

The true power of @ChadwickBoseman was bigger than anything we saw on screen. From the Black Panther to Jackie Robinson, he inspired generations and showed them they can be anything they want — even super heroes. Jill and I are praying for his loved ones at this difficult time.

You just never know what burden someone else is carrying, what battle they may be fighting. This really shocked me. Thank-you Chadwick Boseman for inspiring a generation, and making little black kids believe that anything is possible #WakandaForever pic.twitter.com/ppKDgyXvE5

Chadwick Boseman didn’t “lose his battle with cancer” He was making some of the biggest blockbusters of all time for FOUR years after being diagnosed. Working an insane schedule while doing chemo. This man didn’t “lose” anything. He won and forever stays winning with his legacy pic.twitter.com/t5l4IqiW6r

10 movies in 4 years and didn’t show a sign of sickness. Even visited children with terminal illnesses while having one of his own (that we find out about upon his passing). Chadwick Boseman is a hero on and off screen. pic.twitter.com/Hf8RNXKnqG
