Ademola Adefolahan, a Nigerian singer better known as Fireboy, has announced August 20 as the release date for his next album titled ‘Apollo’.
The YBNL-signed artiste took to his Twitter page on Sunday to release the teaser and lyrics to one of the tracks off the forthcoming studio project, in the caption of which he wrote “Apollo. 20th of August.”
Fireboy developed an interest in music while at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). He thereafter gained fame with the release of ‘Jealous’, a track which first appeared on the 2018 ‘YBNL Mafia Family’ album.
His ‘Apollo’ will be coming on the heels of the success he recorded with his previous body of work ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’, a 13-track album, released in 2019 without any guest artist.

Recently admitting he was treated as the black sheep of his family after opting for music as a career, Fireboy had said, “My mother was forcing Yinka Ayefele, Tope Alabi songs down my throat.
“I was not the black sheep in the family until l told my parents l was going for music,” the 24-year-old had explained. My parents weren’t supportive at first because it was a switch.
“It was a very big switch from a promising child that seemed destined to be a professor to someone who suddenly woke up to wanting to be a musician. It took some time for them to get used to that.”
