Sodiq Yusuf, a Nigerian rapper better known as CDQ, has come through with ‘Vaseline’, his latest single.
The gifted rapper took to his social media page to announce the release of the project on Friday morning.
“Vaseline’ (mafipara) out now on all platforms,” he wrote.

The less than three-minute song sees the rapper reflecting on the need for people to do away with selfish attitudes that could see them craving to take advantage of every opportunity at the detriment of others.
It also sees the singer crooning about other issues including the seemingly romantic relationship between Tiwa Savage and Wizkid, two Nigerian music stars.
In the song, the rapper explained that taking undue advantage of every opportunity that comes up has inherent consequences.
“Mafipara kokin shey vaseline mafipara!, Mafipara Mafipara ko shey adiagbon mafipara, iyawo landlord e Mafipara, toba gbe sun mon e kolo, mafipara, tiwa gbe sun mon wizzy mafipara, Simi gbe sun badguys, mafipara. O fo eluku tan otun wo yara ismaila mafipara,” he can be heard singing in Yoruba.
The indigenous hip-pop rapper rose to prominence after dropping ‘Nowo E Soke’, a 2015 hit single, wherein he featuring Wizkid. He has since established himself as a popular figure in the Nigerian music industry.
CDQ made headlines in March for initiating a movement seeking to make property owners cut the rents of their tenants amid the economic burden brought about by the coronavirus outbreak.
