Rita Edochie, a Nigerian actress, has given out the hand of Amanda, her second daughter, in marriage to her sweetheart.
The talented movie star took to her social media pages on Tuesday to share pictures from the wedding ceremony. She described the event as a success.
Rita also expressed her gratitude to those who prayed and supported the family.
“My great people in the world, I thank you so much for your prayers. The wedding of my second daughter Amanda Maria Edochie was successful and awesome,” she wrote.
The wedding ceremony was said to have taken place on July 11.
Rita and Tony Edochie, who happens to be the younger brother of Pete Edochie, veteran Nollywood actor, have been married since 1990.
The union has been blessed with four children – Nkiru, Amanda, Valentine and Rondy.
In April, the actress had refused to celebrate her birthday, citing the “agony” brought about by the coronavirus pandemic across the world.
“My great people in the world, today April 16 is my birthday but I will not celebrate it because it is only when you are happy you remember to celebrate,” she had said.
“I will be on my knees praying to God to Almighty for forgiveness. I beg him to heal our land. There is so much agony in every home…”
