Jude Abaga, Nigerian rapper better known as MI, has tackled Akon, African-American record producer, for calling Wizkid, award-winning singer, his “little brother.”
Akon, whose real name is Badara Thiam, drew the ire of many Nigerians when he took to Twitter to share a picture of himself alongside the Afrobeats singer with the caption “me and my little bro”.
“Me and my lil bro @wizkidayo at AFRONATION Ghana!,” Akon wrote.

The post, which had amassed 30,000 likes and nearly 5,000 retweets — as of the time this report was filled — has generated intense criticism, albeit commendation in some quarters.
Joining the fray, MI cautioned Akon to take it easy with the “little brother” talk.
“OG abeg chill with that lil bro yan,” he replied Akon’s post.

In another tweet, the gifted rapper went on to say that Wizkid has overcome “larger obstacles to accomplish way more” that Akon.
“I have an opinion: few African artists in diaspora actually did anything to REALLY help the movement.. as a fan of Wizkid (which I am) I don’t see Wiz as lil bro to Akon.. he has overcome larger obstacles to accomplish way more (in my eyes).. In my opinion Wiz is lil bro to none.”

In September, Akon had used Wizkid, Davido and P-Square as case study, when stating that contracts don’t exist in Africa, especially Nigeria.
According to him, “all you need is just to shake hands for a deal to be struck.”

Akon deserve apology from you .
Do it as soon as possible to restitute your little worth…
I really don’t understand why you guys are making this up.. m I meant”wizkid” faced more challenges while coming up than akon.he (wizkid) grew and started from the ghetto of Lagos state, getting this far is an achievement that u all knw Akon never experienced.judging by this, wizkid should be given more accolade
Akin never did what? Experience
You dey there when wizkid dey experience challenges
Money is not accomplishement Akon, what you are known and respected for is your accomplishment.
I mean to say MI and not Akon
Mr Slake u re right about Wizkid facing d hurdles of life especially in Lagos before he attain where he’s today but my Guy I must tell u that Akon too has also face some hurdles of life before he reach where he’s today cos he was not born with silver spoon in his mouth from selling of drugs going to jail is a big hurdles & starting a career inside a correctional department in US is not a joke. Bro we gotta b more sincere here in everything 100% Akon is papa to Wizkid so Mr MI should at least apply is God damn brain.
Correct
Anyway, we know that Wizkid is far younger than Akon… but he’s no longer a boy, just say me & nig bro. the world already knows the difference in age and all that…so putting that ‘little’ unnecessary… but mi you shouldn’t have start talking about achievement and all that…
akon is more decorated than wizkid in all round, why MI no go just keep shut .😡😡😡
Wizkid remain a little bro to Akon cuz talking about Achievement, Age, Struggle or anything Akon first and well known in the white man land than Wizkid so He mean to introduce Wizkid to the white and to show that he is proud Wizkid been a junior to him from Africa. Now I know why Vector called MI (ODE), I don’t know why short people too dey get pride
God go bless you bro. MI is a dwarf with empty skull.
