Stella Seal, award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer better known as Stella Dugan, says there is nothing wrong with a man marrying two or more wives — as long as he can cater for them.

The gospel singer gave her backing on polygamy while featuring on E With Becks, anchored by Rebecca Darko.

Polygamy, which is the practice of a man having more than one wife, is a controversial issue, especially when being discussed on the basis of religion.

Discussions around it often divide people into two extreme camps, with some in support and others against.

But sharing her thought on the issues, Seal said what should be considered in polygamy is the ability of the man to take care of his wives.

She added that polygamy among men would also help reduce the incidences of adultery and infidelity among men.

“If a married man is responsible and I’m his first wife and he wants to marry [another wife] and he can take care of both of us…I don’t have a problem with that,” the gospel singer said.

“If you think you love the woman enough, do the needful or fix your marriage. I speak to ladies who tell me they have four to six boyfriends just because they don’t know who will give them security.”

Darko had earlier announced via her social media page that she would be hosting the popular musician.

“Award winning gospel musician Stella Aba Seal, formerly known as Stella Dugan is my guest on #ewithbecks this Sunday 5pm,” she had posted.
