Mosunmola Abudu, a Nigerian film producer, has dropped the trailer of her forthcoming movie, ‘Oloture’.
The EbonyLife CEO took to her social media page to share a clip of the movie.
The less than three-minute footage addresses the sad tales of trafficked victims in Nigeria and African countries.
The movie also chronicled the foray of Òlòtūré, an undercover journalist, into the world of human traffickers in a bid to expose the ordeals of ladies who are mostly deceived with promises of a luxury life abroad.
“Thank you all so much for making our comedies no.1 in the box office over the years. This time, I want to introduce you to Òlòtūré, a feature film that we made earlier this year,” she wrote on Instagram.
“It is a hard-hitting story about a naive young journalist called Òlòtūré, who goes undercover to expose a gang of human traffickers.
“I am pleased to share the official trailer with you first, as we start a run at the prestigious Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia. The film will be released early next year but, in the meantime, have no fear! Our usual Christmas comedy blockbuster will be in cinemas from 13th December.
“However, our storytelling is expanding to include compelling and dramatic tales that reflect some of the harsh realities of Nigerian and African life. Please enjoy the trailer and let us know what you think about our new direction. #OlotureTheMovie #ComingSoon #OfficialTrailer.”

Before dropping the trailer on her social media page, the filmmaker had posted an emotional video of herself speaking at the Carthage Film Festival where her ‘Olutore’ was screened.
During the event, she had decried the prevalence of human trafficking in the society, promising to invest her resources “into fighting this horrid crime.”
Mo Abudu has established herself as a household name in the country’s entertainment landscape with her unique storyline which often dwells on societal ills.
In 2014, she received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) from Babcock University.
This was followed by another honorary doctorate degree by the University of Westminster in 2018 for her contributions to enterprise and broadcasting in Nigeria.
