Whether planned or not, Queen Elizabeth wore matching colours with George Oguntade, Nigeria’s high commissioner, and his wife Modupe, when she hosted them at the Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
The royal family shared a picture of the meeting via its Instagram page.
“Today at Buckingham Palace, The Queen received and held an audience with the High Commissioner from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Mr. George Adesola Oguntade,” the caption said.
The trio, clad in royal colour purple hue, failed to escape the attention of fashionistas.
Sparing little thought for the significance of the meeting, the internet has fallen head over heels with the coordinated outfits of Her Royal Highness and the Oguntades.
The Oguntades were in sync, clad in stripped Aso-Oke while the Queen donned a demure floral patterned dress worn with black flats.
The pictures of their meeting, which is fast going viral, will go down in history as a memorable fashion moment.
