Omu Resort has announced the maiden edition of its annual Omu Resort Food Festival themed ‘Explore Your Taste Buds’, premiering this year.
Omu Resort is the premier family destination resort in the state.
Slated to run from December 23 through till 24, 2017, the annual event marks Omu Resort’s first season of celebrating diverse culinary experiences in Nigeria.
“The food festival is about celebrating Nigeria’s diversity through food and culture while also showcasing the food & culture of visitors to Nigeria,” says Moji Ibhaze, AGM, Omu Resort.
Lagos, the center of excellence, has been the business habitat for both Nigerians across state and expatriates as a whole.
The food festival would be featuring a culturally diverse menu consisting of Chinese, Continental, Senegalese, Nigerian and Indian foods.
“Lagos is home to so many ethnic groups, not just Nigerians but several international groups with a presence in Nigeria dating back so many decades.
“You have the Chinese, the Indians, Senegalese, Ghanaians, Beninois, Igbos, Hausas, Yorubas, South Africans etc. It is about celebrating Christmas together,” he said.
The event aims to “bring different cultures (including food and dances) together”, he continued, “Guests will learn about different cultures not just their foods”.
The activities featuring at the event include Traditional dances, the food festival as well as the various activities the resort has to offer.
The resort is home to 21 attractions including a zoo consisting animals ranging from a lion, hyenas, giraffes, ostriches, etc. and activities such as quad biking, kayaking, go-carting, sea world, a water park, blade skating, paintballing, amongst others.

Of course, other guests can still come to the resort without having to be part of the festival.
The food festival will be taking place at the Omu Resort premises in bogije town, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
