Twenty days after Davido announced that he was building him a house, Utibe, the 5-year-old schoolboy who went viral for singing ‘IF’, has lost his mother.
An Instagram user @shamrock80s, who first discovered Utibe, shared the news on his Instagram page.
“Rest in peace Utibe’s mum, You struggled to live, you were always telling me that you wanted to start a business; I told you to recover first.
“Now I hear that you are gone so soon. If life was to be sold, I would buy some more years for you.
“I tried to battle for your health but my best was not enough. Who will look after Utibe and the two younger sisters?
” Who will live in the house we are building for you? I just wish you slept in that house even for a second. My heart is heavy but God knows best.”
Shamrock had said that he made a video of the boy at a time when he should have been in school.
After the video went viral, Davido reached out to him, promising to take care of his education and subsequently pledged to build his family a house.
