In its usual fashion, Apple on Wednesday unveiled the much anticipated iPhone 7.
After months of guesses and speculations, expectant iPhone fans can now have a feel of the new device.
Here are the hottest features.
Software
The new iPhone comes with IOS 10, the world’s most advanced smartphone operating system.
Design
iPhone7 has a high gloss finish, seamless surface between the glass and alumninun surface, and a stainless steel Apple logo. Its attennas are intricately built in such a way that you can barely see them.
There is also a matte black version of the phone while the previous colors from iPhone 6 still remain.
Home button
iPhone7 has a force touch home button which works with Taptic Engine API. This results in a higher functionality.
Taptic Engine gives you real-time feedback in the form of subtle taps.
The new oscillating mechanism, now enclosed with its own aluminum shell, reaches its full power in just one cycle (and stops just as quickly) versus ten or more oscillations for most other smartphones.
Dust and water resistant.
The iPhone 7 has the IP67 protection standard which makes it water and dust resistant.
Hence, the iPhone 7 can be submerged in depths of under 1m for 30 minutes and not sustain any permanent damage.
Camera
The optimised camera has a 12MP sensor, optical image stabilisation and up to X3 longer exposure.
It also has six-element lens, quad-LED true tone flash and a 7MP FaceTime HD camera.
Battery life
In response to complaints of users, battery life has been improved in the iPhone 7.
According to Apple, the new battery lasts two hours more than the iPhone 6s.
Earpods:
The earphone now connects through a lightening port.
The iPhone 7 will come with an adapter for the regular headphone connection.
AirPods
AirPods are also known as wireless headphones or earbuds.
Infrared sensors are embedded in each AirPod so as to allow it play only when it’s in your ear.
You can also double tap on the AirPod to access Siri.
Each AirPod provides up to 5 hours of listening on a single charge while the compact wireless charging case delivers more than 24 hours of battery life.
