LISTEN: 9ice tackles ‘Promise & Fail’ politicians in new single

For his new single, Akande ‘9ice’ Abolore has chosen to address some of the deep-rooted socio-political issues in Nigeria.

The singer, who unsuccessfully sought to represent his constituency at the house of representatives in 2015, threw jibes at the country’s political leaders in ‘Promise & Fail’.

According to 9ice, “this is not the change that I voted for, this is now a game like PS4”.

He described the current crop of leaders as “same people, different uniform” irrespective of political alliance.

On the song, 9ice canvassed for political office to be made unattractive and lamented the inequality in meting out justice.

‘Promise & Fail’ was produced by his long-term collaborator ID Cabasa.
