As the 2017 Golden Globes draws closer, the television shows and motion pictures with the highest number of nominations are attracting a great deal of conversation.

All eyes appear to be on movie musical, La La Land, which leads the film categories with seven nominations, and Moonlight, which has six nominations.

La La Land features Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling while Naomi Harris and Mahershala Ali are the stars of Moonlight.

Moonlight was nominated for Best Motion Picture — Drama, Best Director — Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture, among others.

La La Land, on the other hand, was nominated for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, Best Director — Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical, among others.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story leads the television categories with five nominations, followed by AMC’s The Night Manager which has four.

Viola Davis and Denzel Washington are both nominated for their outstanding roles in ‘Fences’, a drama based on August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play.

Jovan Adepo, American-born Nigerian starlet, plays Washington and Davis’ son in the critically acclaimed drama.

The 2017 Golden Globes will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon, and will air live at 8pm EST on NBC.
