A stretchy rubber sex doughnut designed to be worn by men could put an end to painful sexual intercourse in women, Mail Online reports.
Penetrative sex, a supposedly pleasurable activity, could prove painful for some women, for many reasons including endometriosis, infections, cancer treatment, and size.
But controlling the depth of penetration during sex using the wearable Ohnut could offer hope for cringe-free stimulation for women.
Emily Sauer, Ohnut’s creator, says she was inspired to produce the object after suffering in silence for years.
“I fell further and further away from the people that I loved,” Sauer said.
“The feedback from the majority of testers is that they don’t even realize that it’s there. It’s not a hindrance, it doesn’t take away and it even reinvents some positions for a lot of people,” she said.
“Each ring has a slightly smaller, thinner flare so that it can interlock with another Ohnut.
“You can use just one or stack two or three together to create a buffer that the man wears at the base of his shaft, modulating how deep penetration is.
“I was full of emotional triumph for me and my partner at that time, and it became this vehicle for communication” about how much sex had been hurting her, and how much better things could be for both her and a partner.”
