Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has denied conceding defeat to incumbent Anambra governor, Willie Obiano.

A viral video making the rounds purportedly shows what appears to be the Democratic People’s Congress’s governorship candidate endorsing Obiano.

In a video post, Edochie took to Twitter to debunk claims that he is quitting his political ambition.

He said the viral video was him taking on the role of Obiano in a movie, adding that it should be disregarded.

“You people should verify things before posting to avoid being sued to court,” he wrote. “This is a clip from a movie I shot 2 yrs ago where I played the role of Governor Willie.

“I’ll advise you take it out now and apologise to avoid further action from my legal team.”

@Leadersng challenged Edochie’s claims saying he should prove otherwise by providing the details of the said movie.

Edochie responded with posters of the movie poster in a series of tweets.

The website later apologised to the actor saying, “Our sincere apologies to you over the video earlier posted on our platform”.

“We tried to reach you but couldn’t and we contacted someone in your camp who confirmed the authenticity of the video”.

Edochie, who is contesting for a seat in the ongoing Anambra election, also persuaded voters to go out and perform their civic duties.
