Yul Edochie, the Nollywood actor, has claimed there is “beef and envy in almost every extended family in Igboland”.
The 42-year-old film star, who is known for his controversial opinions, in an Instagram post, argued that many family members “bear malice” against one another due to an age-long rift between their parents.
Edochie said some do not even remember the “reason for the quarrel”, adding that it “makes no sense”.
“Many families, cousins bearing malice against each other cos of something their parents told them that the other parents did to them donkey years back,” he wrote.
“Some can’t even remember the reason for the quarrel. There’s beef and envy in almost every extended family in Igbo land. Yet every Sunday, they are in church. Makes no sense.”

Edochie has been embroiled in controversy since he unveiled Austin, the actress, as his second wife, in April 2022.
He also announced their first child together, to the displeasure of May, his first wife.
May filed for divorce from Yul and demanded N100 million in damages.
DPA Family Clinic, the legal team of May, previously claimed Edochie denied getting married to Judy.
The movie star also recently unveiled his online church called the ‘True Salvation Ministry (TSM)’.
He said it was “time to answer the call of God”.
