Duncan Okechukwu, Nigerian record producer better known as Duncan Mighty, says he has received threats over a sum paid to him by Rochas Okorocha, senator representing Imo west.
The 35-year-old R&B singer took to his Instagram page on Friday to disclose this in an open letter to the former governor.
Mighty said he is being threatened by a group of Okorocha’s boys asking him to return the funds gifted to him by the politician for recording a particular song.
According to the singer, the situation has seen him appear for questioning at the police station and he is willing to make a refund if it took just that to avoid further embarrassment to his person.
“Your excellency, compliments of the season. I am writing to inform you that my life is being threatened because of the money you paid for me to record a song with one of your boys,” the post read.
“After I recorded a song prior to doing a video, I have been invited to the police and several threats have been issued to me. Please, I want to return the money to you to avoid further embarrassment to my person.
“Because you directly paid in public while the job was going smoothly immediately after you paid, they said you sent them to bring back money to you Long throat different from a hungry person. Even if na ordinary pepper I dey sell, I must be good.”

In 2018, he had expressed interest to be a running mate to Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the Action Alliance Congress (AAC) in 2019 elections.
